While it makes great sense to use a lawyer in China for all of your legal needs, it doesn't make sense to pay them to do simple admin tasks such as setting up a company
The same goes for accountants and the idea you need to pay them exorbitant fees for a simple bookkeeping task.
IP Registration
Most people ignore registering IP in China at their own peril.
There is lots of chat around whether or not it is worth registering the IP of a company in China. Horror stories regarding IP theft abound and so most don't think about registering their trademark or design here in China. But surely the alternative is worse? What if it does come down to litigation and it is the other side that has taken the time to register the IP and you haven't. If you thought your defence of your IP was thin before, it is pretty much non-existent now.
There is no question that enforcement of IP ownership is pretty tough in China. That's why we suggest you register such IP at the very least. While it is tough to enforce it, it is even tougher if you haven't bothered to register it.
